Region of Peel – Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have charged a 21-year-old man from Oshawa and a 19-year-old man from Toronto involved in an armed carjacking.
On Monday, February 6, 2023, at 8:20 p.m., the victim drove his vehicle to the area of Hurontario Street and Square One Drive in Mississauga for a pre-arranged business meeting. Three suspects approached the victim while he was seated in his luxury vehicle. After a brief conversation, the suspects allegedly demanded his vehicle at gunpoint. The victim complied, exited his vehicle, and the three suspects drove off. The victim sustained no physical injuries.
Following an investigation, police immediately located the vehicle near Finch Avenue and Highway 400 in Toronto. With assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police, York Regional Police and the Toronto Police Service, the vehicle was stopped resulting in two of the three suspects being arrested. A third suspect remains outstanding.
Two loaded firearms, a Glock 46 compact 45 calibre firearm and a Glock 26, 9mm firearm with an extended magazine, were located. Police also found another extended magazine containing 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Emmanuel Ezbon, a 19-year-old man from Toronto, has been charged with the following offences:
- Robbery with a Firearm
- Disguise with Intent
- Point Firearm X 2
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Prohibited Device X 3
- Breach of Probation Order
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
At the time of the offence Emmanuel Ezbon was bound by a Probation Order with conditions not to possess any weapons and a weapons prohibition order.
Demouy Blair, a 21-year-old man from Oshawa, has been charged with the following offences:
- Robbery with a Firearm
- Disguise with Intent
- Point Firearm X 2
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm
Both parties were held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Investigators have removed two illegal firearms from our streets along with several accused parties, one of whom is alleged to have ignored court imposed conditions prohibiting him from possessing them.
